Youth and Sports and Labor and Employment Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said there is no alternative to expanding sports across the country to eliminate child marriage and child labour.

He said this while meeting the representatives of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund UNICEF in his office at the Secretariat on Monday (September 23).

The youth and sports adviser said there is no alternative to expanding sports nationwide to eliminate child marriage and child labour. The government will work with UNICEF to divert marginalized children from hazardous labor and engage them in sports and life-oriented education. Besides, various activities of Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Labor and Employment were discussed during the meeting.
