The streaming giant Spotify and Duchess Meghan (41) and Prince Harry (38) end their multi-million dollar collaboration after just one production. “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we’ve made together,” British media quoted Friday as saying in a joint statement from Spotify and Archewell Audio, the couple’s label.

This leaves twelve episodes of the “Archetypes” podcast broadcast, in which Meghan spoke to celebrities such as singer Mariah Carey, It-Girl Paris Hilton or tennis star Serena Williams about prejudice against women. The series won Best Podcast at the People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles in December 2022.

Spotify and the royal couple announced their collaboration at the end of 2020. At that time, several series were announced. According to US media, however, the project did not meet Spotify’s productivity requirements. Therefore, the couple will not receive the full value of the contract, which is said to be worth almost 23 million euros. An Archewell spokeswoman told the Wall Street Journal that Meghan would “continue to create content for Archetypes audiences on a different platform.”

Since resigning from their royal duties a good three years ago, Harry and Meghan have been trying to stand on their own two feet financially and have signed several contracts worth millions. These include a deal with the streaming service Netflix and a contract with the publisher Penguin Books, which published Harry’s autobiography “Reserve” in January.
