The spring break season promises to be good for campsites and hotels. Holidaymakers are already enjoying the sun on the beaches of La Rochelle.
Having breakfast in the open air, a holiday pleasure for a family that has settled in a campsite in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime). “We’re in the light all day, it’s rejuvenating”, confides the mother of the family. Arrived the evening before from Deux-Sèvres, the campers already have their program: a bit of cycling and a bit of respite.
A good season for professionals
The season promises to be very good: 60% of pitches are full, i.e. 20% more than in 2022. “We had a very good start to the season with good Easter holidays, a lot of people, especially in terms of mobile homes”, explains Christiane Roquain, the director of the campsite. In a neighboring hotel, three-quarters of the rooms are reserved for several months. On the beach, the thermometer reads 12 degrees, which does not cool some walkers. With the crossover, La Rochelle is preparing to welcome new holidaymakers.
