As the first week of the first ITF CBI (Level I) Course for coaches ended, Spyros Zannias, vice-president of the International Olympic Academy, member of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the Hellenic Tennis Federation, visited Rhodes, declaring with his presence the importance of the project and the necessity of the training of Greek coaches. In his greeting to the participants, he referred to the cooperation achieved between EFOA and ITF in order to have a wider training plan for Greek coaches and guaranteed the continuity of the planning with the organization and the next levels that will be created by Greek trainers and certified coaches of the ITF with access in the database of the international Academy.
Mr. Zannias referred to the Olympic values in the spirit of Olympism, the equality of the sexes, and reminded the coaches that apart from the technical subject, they must always have in mind the education of young people and their contribution to the formation of whole characters. After thanking the Developer Officer for Europe Vitor Cabral for his personal presence and contribution to the training of the high-level ITF seminar, he referred to the experienced trainers and thanked for the help the organization had from the IOC (Olympic Solidarity), the EOE, the ITF and of course from EFOA, as well as from DERMAE and the municipality of Rhodes and from the Rhodian Tennis Club which provided courts and equipment.
On the sidelines of the visit, he did not fail to visit all the associations of the island and listen to the problems of the associations of the island region. Important discussions took place between Mr. Zannias and Vitor Cabral regarding the future of Greek tennis and the perspectives that are opened up by the cooperation of EFOA with ITF Academy.
