Sreenivasan’s murder: 4 Popular Front activists arrested

Mohammad Rizwan, Riyazuddin, Mohammad Bilal and Sahad, accused in the murder of RSS activist Srinivasan, are being brought to the South police station.

Palakkad: Four SDPI and Popular Front activists have been arrested for aiding and abetting the murder of former RSS bodyguard Pramukh Srinivasan. Town South police arrested Mohammad Bilal (22), Mohammad Rizwan (20), Riyasuddin (35), Puthupparyaram Industrial Estate and Parappath Thodi Sahad (22) from Kalpathy Shankhuvaramedu, Palakkad. The perpetrators have not yet been caught. There are 16 accused in the case.

It was Mohammad Rizwan who delivered the killers’ mobiles and other items to their homes. Sahad took part in the conspiracy. Bilal and Riyazuddin were in the upstairs room to help the killers hours before they arrived. Police have received footage of the two traveling through the city several times to understand Srinivasan’s movements. Srinivasan was recently released after 11 a.m. as part of his father’s treatment. When Srinivasan arrived, they were summoning the killer gang. They also paved the way for the escape of the accused. ADGP Vijay Sakhar said more people were involved in the conspiracy and more culprits had been identified.

Police say the killers planned to retaliate the night SDPI leader Zubair was killed. The assassination was planned in the grounds near the district hospital mortuary where Zubair’s body was kept. At first, he targeted a Yuva Morcha leader and another active Sangh Parivar activist in the district, but failed. It was then that he reached Srinivasan. The night the planning took place, people were prepared to carry it out. Vehicles and weapons were provided.
