The third ODI between Sri Lanka and Australia was played in Colombo. The five-match series is currently tied at 1-1. Australian captain Aaron Finch opts to bat after winning the toss at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Captain Finch (62) and Travis Head (70 *) were the first batsmen to make a significant contribution as Australia scored 291 for 6 in 50 overs. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 292 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 48.3 overs. Padum Nisanga scored 137 runs for Sri Lanka. Similarly, Kausal Mendes scored 87 and became the Retired Hurt.
Referee Kumar Dharmasena tried to catch the ball as wicketkeeper Alex Carey hit the square leg in the Australian batting innings. However, in the end, he let the ball go in its normal course.
The Australian cricket team’s official Twitter page shared a photo of the referee trying to catch him. “C! It looks like referee Kumar Dharmasena wants to take action … fortunately he did not. ” That photo that was shared mentioning that is currently going viral.
