Sri Lanka is facing a shortage of food, medicine, cooking gas, fuel and matches due to the financial crisis. People queue for hours every day for fuel and cooking gas. This has been the situation in Sri Lanka for months.

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Roshan Mahanama shared pictures of himself distributing tea and buns to people queuing at a petrol pump near Ward Place and Vijerama Mawatha in Sri Lanka yesterday.

“This evening we will be distributing tea and buns to the people in the petrol queue around Ward Place and Vijerama Mawatha with the team at Community Mileshare. The number of queues is getting longer day by day. People in the queue are more likely to have health problems, ”Mahanama tweeted.

“Everyone pay attention to those standing in the queue. Provide adequate food and water. If you feel unwell, contact the nearest person, or call 1990. We can support each other in this difficult time, ”Mahanama added.
