The struggle continues in the pouring rain, demanding the resignation of Sri Lankan President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

People have been protesting for the 5th day against Sri Lankan President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. In Colombo, women, youth and the elderly are all involved in the struggle, despite the pouring rain. As the Tamil and Sinhala New Year was about to be celebrated across the country, protesters carried banners such as Go Home Kota.

Temporary tents, food, mattresses and movable toilets have been set up to accommodate the protesters. They also named the battlefield where they were staying “Kota Ko Gama”. Moreover, they have been breaking the pots fitted with the image of the Rajapaksas and expressing their opposition.
