Colombo: Our neighbor Sri Lanka is facing a severe economic crisis due to the shortage of foreign exchange. There is a shortage of fuels including petrol and diesel. Prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed, leaving angry people demanding the resignation of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. The Sri Lankan government is seeking the help of the International Monetary Fund to deal with the financial crisis. A delegation led by Finance Minister Ali Sabri has left for the United States. It has been reported that they have a demand of Rs 30,000 crore.
