Colombo: It is reported that Sri Lanka will face a severe food shortage after the financial crisis. Due to the increase in fuel prices, the bakery industry is also facing a severe crisis. The All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association informed that in the current situation, the shops will run out of bread and other food items in the next two days.

Considering the current economic situation, more than 50 percent of the construction has been put on hold. The construction of the rest will also be completed soon. Right now, the country is going through a major economic crisis since independence in 1948. As the economic crisis worsened, thousands took to the streets to protest. The devaluation of the Sri Lankan currency and the government’s lack of efforts to protect the country led the people to protest.

People stormed the official residence of President Gotabaya Rajpakse and set fire to the house of Prime Minister Renil Wickremesinghe.
