Newspapers have stopped printing due to shortage of paper and ink as imports have been affected due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka.

Newspaper companies have stated that they apologize to their readers for this. However, they also said that their newspaper is running online. It is noteworthy that The Island magazine has been published since 1981.
