Colombo: Former President Sirisena has reportedly said that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has decided to form an all-party government in Sri Lanka under the new Prime Minister.

Sri Lanka is in a severe economic crisis. Thus, the prices of essential commodities have increased. People are protesting against President Gotabhaya and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. Opposition parties have stated they will not run in the by-elections. But Mahinda Rajapaksa had said he would not resign.

In this context, the opposition held talks with President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Former President Sirisena has been quoted in the country’s media as saying that the president has agreed to form a government that includes all opposition parties. In it, Mahinda Rajapaksa will not feature. The new cabinet will have 20 members. Sirisena said an inclusive National Council of all political parties would be formed and the body would take key decisions. Thus stated in that message.
