It has been reported that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has approved the removal of Mahinda Rajapaksa from the post of Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.

The people’s struggle against the government in Sri Lanka continues. He further added that in this case, no one can remove himself from office until he has a majority in parliament.

Struggles are common in a democracy and no government can exist in this country if governments withdraw for the sake of struggle. He has stated that he has no intention of holding office contrary to democracy.

In this context, it has been reported that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has approved the removal of Mahinda Rajapaksa from the post of Prime Minister in Sri Lanka.

Member of Parliament Vasudeva Nanayakkara has stated that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has approved the formation of an interim government.

Leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Maithripala Sirisena said; –

Today’s talks with President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa were a success. He said the appointment of the new prime minister and the new cabinet of the all-party government would be handed over to the National Assembly, which includes leaders of all parties.
