Sri Lankan writer wins Booker Prize for 2022

The Booker Prize is the highest literary award. This year’s Booker Prize has been awarded to the book The Seven Moons of Mali Amida written by Sri Lankan author Shehan Karunathilaka.

This novel is based on the Sri Lankan Civil War. A prize of £50,000 is awarded for winning the Booker Prize.

The Booker Prize was announced for a book written by a Sri Lankan author from among the 6 books selected for the final competition.

It is noteworthy that he is the second Sri Lankan author to win the Booker Prize.
