Kochi: YouTube vlogger Srikanth Vettiar has been granted anticipatory bail in a rape case. Bail was granted by the High Court. In his bail application, Srikanth Vettiar had said that the torture complaint would not stand and that the allegation of sexual harassment against him was made with intent.
The complainant alleged that Srikanth Vettiar was sexually assaulted in his flat in Aluva and in a hotel room in Kochi after he was called for a birthday party.
Srikanth has been twice accused of retaliating through his Facebook page ‘Women Against Sexual Harassment’. He later lodged a complaint with the police. The Ernakulam Central Police has registered a case against Sreenith. Ernakulam First Class Judicial Magistrate Court recorded the girl’s confession.
Police said they had launched an investigation for Srikanth after the complaint was lodged but the accused was absconding.
