At approximately 2:06 pm on the 21st, SRT train No. 329 from Suseo to Busan stopped due to a breakdown between Dongdaegu Station and Gyeongju Station. Subsequent trains were delayed one after another, and passengers suffered great confusion due to the unexpected natural disaster.
‘Mr. A, who was trying to go from Dongdaegu Station to Seoul Station, said, “I was surprised when delay signs suddenly started appearing on all trains.”
Mr. B said, “Right now, Dongdaegu Station is hell,” and “Dongdaegu Station is full of people, and all the electronic signs show delays. I’m glad I’m alone, but I think it’s going to be difficult for families with children.”
Upbound trains were also delayed as upbound lines were blocked due to measures to prevent trains from breaking down.
The train that stopped on the tracks was moved to Dongdaegu Station at approximately 4:07 p.m., about 1 hour and 40 minutes later.
An SR official said, “We need to go into the base and look into why the train stopped,” and added, “There were no casualties.”
At approximately 2:26 p.m. on this day, SRT train No. 329 from Suseo to Busan stopped due to a vehicle breakdown between Dongdaegu Station and Gyeongju Station. Passengers on the train boarded the following KTX train and headed to their destination, but the SRT and KTX trains continued for about two hours. It was delayed.
