SSC implements security device for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s holidays

The Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) of the Mexico Cityimplemented, on the occasion of the celebrations of “New Year’s Eve 2024 and New Year’s Eve 2025“, starting at 06:00 hours this December 31 until their end on January 1, security plans and programs to safeguard the integrity of the inhabitants and visitors of Mexico City.

In coordination with the 16 mayors of the capital and complementary police forces, they will carry out “security actions before, during and after the festivities“. To do this, they will have 14,716 uniformed personnel, with 900 patrol cars, 30 motorcycles, five cranes, 12 ambulances, 10 motorcycle ambulances and a helicopter from the General Directorate of Cóndores Air Services.

Operation ready for New Year in CDMX

In addition to the above, they will have the support of the personnel of the Command and Control Centers (C2) Center, North, East, West and South and the Command, Control, Computing, Communications and Citizen Contact Center of CDMX (C5) to monitor the areas where the events take place and thus detect any type of incident.

To complete the reinforcement, they will add in-person support from police elements at the 183 stations of the Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro and in the 45 Modal Transfer Centers (CETRAM).

Finally, to detect any situation that seeks to affect the integrity of the attendees, will increase surveillancesecurity, roads, ground clearance and patrol circuits in residential areas, housing units, houses, departmental buildings, shopping centers and plazas, parks, sports, theaters and restaurant areas.

The SSC of CDMX recommends that citizens “to participate in preventive activities and drive responsibly, to avoid taking unnecessary risks that could cause accidents, such as driving after consuming alcoholic beverages or driving while tired“.
