SSLC and Plus Two exams will not be changed; Concern on the question paper – KERALA – GENERAL

by time news

Thiruvananthapuram: Following the successful conduct of the public examinations during the Kovid period last year, the SSLC and Plus Two examinations will be held in March this year itself. The Department of Education hopes that the situation will not be affected by the aggravation of Kovid.

Digital online classes will be arranged to complete the SSLC syllabus in the first week of February and the Plus Two in the last week of February. The focus area for the exam is provided.

Education Minister V Sivankutty said in a press conference that the revised guidelines will be released after the high level meeting of the education department on Monday. Exam dates remain unchanged. Health care arrangements will be made at the school for students in classes 10,11,12.

At the same time, teacher unions say they have not been able to complete a quarter of the curriculum, including online and in school classrooms. The Plus Two model exam will start on January 22.

Opposition teachers’ unions say the exam does not match the focus area and the proportional questions. The discrepancy was noticed when the pattern of the question paper came out. Must be able to get more than seventy percent marks through the answers in the focus area alone. According to this question paper pattern, it is mandatory to answer the questions in the non-focus area. Students who focus on the focus area will not get high marks just by its marks.

Non-focus without choice

In order for students to score A + and A, they must score another 24 marks outside the focus area. Questions in the focus area have a choice but are not in the non focus. The government initially suggested that more questions be asked from the focus area as classes were delayed. It was said that there would be a choice in the non-focus area.

Determined by SCERT

The focus area is 60 to 80 percent of each subject. This is determined by the SCERT as per the directions of the Department of Education. It will be approved and published on the Department of Education’s site. NCERT Director Jayaprakash said the same pattern was followed this time. It is available at www.hsslive.in and dhsekerala.

“It simply came to our notice then. The question paper is being prepared as per the government order.

Dr. S.S. Vivekananda,

Joint Director, Examination Section

The question paper should be prepared on the basis of focus area only. The self-help lobby is behind the current decision. ‘

“Earlier, a letter was written to the education department asking them to reconsider the focus area itself.”
