ST is one of the largest companies in the field of airframe maintenance. Powerfleet’s solution will be installed on top of the logistics tools in the complex. ST: “The demo proved their capabilities”

Singapore’s ST Engineering, one of the world’s largest providers of airframe maintenance and repair (MRO) services, will deploy the telemetry solution to the industrial world of Powerfleet at the company’s central facility at San Antonio Airport, Texas.

Powerfleet’s monitoring kits will be installed on logistics tools operating in the maintenance facility and at the airport, such as forklifts, to provide monitoring and analytics of all operational tools. Powerfleet’s solution will also help tighten security and access control in the complex. Powerfleet also added that their solution will help ST to prevent damage to equipment and ineffectiveness of tools.

Erwin Chin, San Antonio facility manager, said the integration of Powerfleet’s solution is part of the company’s digital transformation of its hangar operations. “The demonstration they performed for us illustrated the ability of their technology to manage and track our assets, to ensure that only authorized people are operating our industrial tools, as well as to collect data and improve safety.”

The Powerfleet company was established in October 2020 following a merger between the Pointer Telecommunication company from Rosh Ha’Ain and the ID Systems company from New Jersey. Powerfleet’s revenues in the second quarter amounted to $34.6 million, an increase of 4% compared to the first quarter of 2022 and a record of 10 quarters. The company’s profit margin increased from 17% to 24%, and the company attributes this to the steps it took to moderate the volatility in component procurement prices and as a result of engineering changes it made to some of its products. The operating loss amounted to 1.6 million dollars.

Powerfleet’s revenues in the American market increased by 12% in the first half of 2022, and it has about 3,000 industrial customers, including Ford, Volvo and Nestlé. The company intends to launch its industrial product line in Latin America, Israel and the Middle East as well.
