St. Thomas Day Celebration Held in New York by Malayalee Christian Organization
New York – On Sunday, July 15, the St. Thomas Ecumenical Federation of North America, a Malayalee Christian organization in New York, held a grand celebration of St. Thomas Day at the CSI Jubilee Memorial Church in Williston Park. The event was attended by priests and religious individuals from various churches in New York and was presided over by the President of the Ecumenical Federation, Rev. Shaji Kochumman.
The celebration kicked off at 5 pm with a series of speeches and performances. Rev. John Davidson Johnson directed the program, while Rev. VT Thomas and Rev. Jibin Thambi offered their greetings. Dr. Rachel George delivered the Bible reading, adding a spiritual touch to the event.
The atmosphere was enhanced by the beautiful singing of choirs, which included the Ecumenical Choir, Orthodox Church Choir, CS I Jubilee Memorial Church Choir, and New York Voices for Christ Choir. The uplifting songs added to the overall sense of joy and unity among the attendees.
During the event, Convenors John Tamaravelil and Thomas Jacob shared details about future events organized by the Ecumenical Federation, namely the Ecumenical Picnic and the Ecumenical Dinner. Ticket sales for the picnic were inaugurated during the celebration, providing an opportunity for everyone to participate in upcoming events.
Rev. P.M. Thomas commenced the program with an opening prayer, and Vice President Rev. Fr. John Thomas concluded with a closing prayer. The warm welcome was extended by Program Convenor Mr. Kalamthi Varghese, while Joint Secretary Mr. Mathukutty Eso expressed his gratitude to all those involved.
Lisa George skillfully served as the Master of Ceremonies, ensuring a smooth flow of the event. The arrangements and coordination were flawlessly supervised by Rev. Sam N. Joshua, Don Thomas, Thomas Varghese, and Vipin Abraham, who tirelessly fulfilled their various duties.
