A 61-year-old and a 24-year-old got into a fight in a Graz shopping center on Friday afternoon. The older man brandished a knife – but not a sharp one.
At around 4 p.m., the Iraqi (61) and the younger Austrian were in a restaurant in a shopping center in the Gries district. The argument started as a verbal altercation, but quickly escalated. Until the Iraqi grabbed a butter knife and attacked his opponent “with powerful blows” – as the police describe it. Guests immediately alerted the police, who intervened with patrols and the SIG (Rapid Intervention Group) special unit. Both people had minor facial injuries.
