A licensed wrestling tournament continues in Baku.

As reported by İdman.biz, on the second day of the competition at the National Gymnastics Arena, tickets to the Olympics are played out in women’s wrestling.

The main attention is focused on four-time Summer Games medalist Maria Stadnik (50 kg). As part of the Azerbaijani team, Elnura Mamedova (53 kg), Birgul Sultanova (62 kg) and Elis Manolova (68 kg) entered the mat, but they all lost. Zhalya Aliyeva (57 kg) will also perform.

The finalists of the tournament in each weight will receive licenses for the Olympics.

Maria Stadnik started the fight from the 1/4 finals. The opponent of the two-time world champion and 11-time European champion was Gabija Dilute (Lithuania). Stadnik, a 10-0 winner, advanced to the semi-finals in 51 seconds. For the selection for Paris 2024, she met with Oksana Livac (Ukraine), who defeated Julie Marrin Sabatier (France).
