La Equidad and Águilas Doradas did not take advantage of each other this Saturday in their match for date 6 of the Liga Betplay 2024-II, played at the Enrique Olaya Herrera stadium.
In the first half, La Equidad had its first approach around the 7th minute with Beckham David Castro, who received a great cross from Santiago Gómez and took a shot that barely went over the goal of Jesús Contreras.
Towards the half-hour mark, Víctor Moreno charged forward for Águilas and tried to surprise Washington Ortega with a long-range shot that narrowly missed the target. At the 32nd minute, Jhon Fredy Salazar grabbed the ball after a throw-in and fired a right-footed shot that went into the hands of goalkeeper Ortega.
Two minutes later, the last opportunity of this half came with Beckham, who attempted an Olympic goal, but Contreras reacted and managed to catch the ball with difficulty.
In the second half, Águilas had the best chances, the first of which came at the 68th minute during a counterattack by Mateo Puerta, who advanced on the right and wanted to pass the ball to David Lemos, but Ortega anticipated and in his effort to clear the danger left a rebound that Salazar reached, but his shot was cleared by Leider Riascos.
In the 72nd minute, the team from Sincelejo had another opportunity, this time with Adrián Estacio, who took a free kick with a right-footed shot that barely went wide of Equidad’s goal. Ten minutes later, Jesús David Rivas tried from a distance and forced Ortega to deflect the ball for a corner kick.
Although Águilas pressed more towards the end, the team from Sincelejo could not find the goal, and everything ended in a draw with little excitement. In the next match, Águilas will face Millonarios at home, while La Equidad will play against Patriotas in Tunja.
