The STAR Oil Refinery in Turkey, managed by the State Oil Firm of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), entered the TOP-3 largest enterprises in Turkey in 2023 in response to the score of the Istanbul Chamber of Trade (ISO), Day.Az reported on Tuesday close to Turkish media.

In accordance with the ISO’s “Turkey’s 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises 2023” rating, Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (TUPRAS) has retained its title as Turkey’s largest industrial enterprise with gross sales of 484.2 billion liras (US$14.7 billion) in 2023.

Ford Automotive, which was third in 2022, rose to second place in 2023 with gross sales of 238 billion lira (US$7.22 billion).

The STAR refinery, which ranked second on this rating in 2022, grew to become third on the finish of 2023 with gross sales of manufactured merchandise amounting to 226.8 billion lira (6.88 billion US {dollars}).

The TOP-10 additionally included Istanbul Refinery, Toyota Automotive, Oyak-Renault, Arcelik, Mercedes-Benz Turk AS, Gram Kıymetli Madenler AS, Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikaları TAS.

Allow us to recall that the STAR refinery, value about 7 billion US {dollars}, has been working since October 2018. At present, the enterprise is able to processing 13 million tons of oil of such grades as Azeri Gentle, Kerkuk and Urals.

Different forms of petroleum merchandise from this refinery are bought on the Turkish and Mediterranean markets (diesel gasoline, jet gasoline).
