Popular small screen actor Waliul Haque Rumi died early today (April 22) while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital. His death cast a shadow of mourning in the showbiz arena. His longtime co-workers have expressed their condolences on social media.

Actor Chanchal Chowdhury gave a status on his Facebook. Regretfully, the actor wrote, ‘I thought I would go see you when you get better. Didn’t meet again. What a farewell Rumi brother! Everyone has to surrender to destiny. But you left a little too soon. Rest in peace brother Rumi. Respect and love.’

Actor Ziaul Farooq Apurba posted a picture of Rumi on Facebook and wrote, ‘The popular face of television drama Waliul Haque Rumi bhai passed away some time ago. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun. Everyone will pray for him.’ With a black background, actress Sharmin Joha Shashi wrote, ‘Rumi bhai…have a good journey.’
