Started marketing Tesla Model Y in Israel at a starting price of 332,000 shekels, according to the manufacturer from the US. Model Y is an electric compact crossover manufactured in Germany at the new Giga Factory in Berlin and will be marketed here in several versions, with dual propulsion and slightly different battery packs.
The Model Y is a medium-sized crossover, immediately sized with relatively spacious dimensions that was available in the country in a seating arrangement for five people, although offered worldwide in seven seats. It is 4.75 m long, 1.92 m wide, 1.62 m high and the wheelbase is 2.9 m. The model that will be sold in Israel is divided between the Long Range version and the Performance version, with similar equipment to the Tesla Model 3 interior packages (as well as to the human engineering and design).
The maximum distance on the battery is 533 kilometers in the Long Range version and 514 km until it empties in the Performance model, with acceleration to 100 km / h in 5 seconds in the Long Range model, while the performance version cuts this figure to 3.7 seconds only. All models come with a 15-inch main screen, a dedicated Tesla app for controlling various systems, 21-inch rims and all of the manufacturer’s smart safety systems.
The price for the performance version is NIS 363,469, including taxes and a licensing fee. The American company reports that there are 36 supercharger terminals in Israel, spread over 6 stations with a charging rate of up to 1,600 km per hour.
Tesla’s response to the lack of a 7-seater model: “Model Y originating in the German plant is only marketed in 5-seater versions in European, Middle Eastern and Africa based on Long Range and Performance packages. We have no known or defined time window for marketing a 7-seater in these areas at present. Delivery times for shorter versions, with availability in July-August.
