Harippad: Arun Raj, a young director, has entered the world of Malayalam cinema from a one-room house without electricity. Arunraj (30) is the son of Rajan and Usha of Pallipad Koithara house. Arun Raj, who has been passionate about cinema since childhood, is now happy to have completed it.
Arun Raj, who has directed and shot three films, has made his mark in this field. As a child, Arun’s greatest desire was to catch the cameraman’s light when he went to weddings. Arun’s dream was to be known as a great photographer within that day.
Arunraj, a BSc Electronics graduate, went through many hardships to reach his desired field. During his degree studies, he got a job as a Coast Guard in Visakhapatnam, but left his job and returned home as he was convinced that this was not his area. It was very difficult for the financially disadvantaged Arun’s family to accommodate this.

When he could not cope with the questions of his family and the natives, he left and later worked in a thatch shop in Koothattukulam. Later he worked as a waiter in a hotel in Palarivattom, Ernakulam. It was during his hotel career from 2010 to 2016 that he had the opportunity to re-enter the film industry.
After 2016, he did retail work in the film industry and gained more knowledge about cinema. Production controller Vinod, who met him while working in a hotel, and producer and actor Binu Sathyan paved the way for Arun Raj’s film. In 2019, Arun will be directing and directing his debut film Muttuvin Opening.
Filming was completed when Kovid came under control, but the release did not take place. The movie will hit theaters this July. In 2020, Arun Raj won the Best Director and Best Cinematography award at the Indian International Film Festival for his short film Memories of Murder, set in Kovid.
Arun also shot the camera for the movie Welcome to Pandimala which hit theaters on June 3. Arun is the director and cameraman of the upcoming film ‘Kurish’ which is getting ready for release on Netflix. The pooja for Devananda, the latest film written and directed by Arun, is over. Filming will start soon. Many famous actors are playing the lead roles in this movie.

When Arun reached such a height from a one-room house without electricity, he became the pride of the family and the locals. Today, everyone is saying in one voice that Arun’s decision was right.
