US imposed sanctions on company and two vessels over Nord Stream 2
The United States is imposing sanctions on two vessels and one Russian-related company involved in the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project. This was stated by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
According to him, the State Department submitted a report to Congress based on the Protecting European Energy Security Act (PEESA) of 2019.
The report mentioned two vessels and one Russian-linked company Transadria Ltd, which are involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Transadria will be subject to PEESA-based sanctions and its ship, the Marlin, “will be deemed confiscated.” Another vessel, against which the sanctions will be imposed, has not been named.
