State Duma deputy from United Russia Anton Gorelkin sent a proposal to the Ministry of Digital Development to create a Russian game engine. About this he declared in your Telegram channel.

Mr. Gorelkin drew attention to the fact that the Russian shooter Atomic Heart from the Moscow studio Mundfish is being developed on the engine of the American company Epic Games called Unreal Engine. Epic Games stopped selling its games in Russia in connection with a special operation in Ukraine, and the deputy is worried that the company can revoke the license to use the computer engine at any time.

The situation is the same with the American Unity engine, which is widespread in the Russian gaming industry. The deputy proposes to “urgently” start developing a Russian competitive analogue, which should function within the framework of open source software.
