CHENNAI : AVM Rajeswarimetric School, Chennai won the first position in boys in the state level inter-school basketball tournament.The state level basketball tournament titled ‘Swami Dayananda Saraswati’ was recently organized by the Chennai Sports Division of TAD Education Group. The competitions for both sexes were held for girls at DAV School, Gopalapuram, Chennai and for boys at DAV School, Mukapper, for five consecutive days. 29 teams participated in the boys category and 25 teams participated in the girls category. The Tamil Nadu Basketball Association President inaugurated the first day of the competition. At the end of all the competitions, Chennai AVM, Rajeshwari Matriculation Higher Secondary School won the first position in boys category. The second place was won by Velammal School, Chennai, the third place was won by Salem ST, Mary’s School. Among boys, the first place was won by Holy Cross Anglo Indian School, Tuticorin, the second place was won by CCMA, Government School, Coimbatore, and the third place was won by Salem St. Joseph’s School.
