Thondi: A state level doubles badminton tournament was held in Thondi on behalf of sports club.
Sports Club Administrator Sadiq Badshah presided. Dondi Inspector Murugesan inaugurated the competition. In the state level competition, Surya and Lokes from Thanjavur won the first place, Veerapandi and Manirethnam from Karaikudi won the second place, Paramakkudi Thavanesh and Surya won the first place, Paramakkudi Alex and Muthukumar won the second place.
Paramakudi Sasi and Shankar won the first place in the Vitron category, Thondi Sadiqpatshah and Guthupdeen won the second place and RS Mangalam Anand and Lawrence won the third place. Winners were given prize money and a shield. Players from Trichy, Chennai, Madurai, Ramanathapuram and Sivagangai regions participated.
