Lieberman’s dormitory ruling postponed: After about three weeks ago, following the resignation of coalition chairman Idit Silman, MK Nir Orbach forced Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman to postpone the dormitory ruling, which demands the abolition of daycare subsidies for students, for another year, today (Wednesday ) The state officially informed the High Court of this, in a discussion on the subject.

As part of the discussions on the issue, which followed the “Truth to Jacob” organization’s petition, the state told the High Court that the plan to harm the students and their children will be postponed for another year, after the High Court postponed it until the beginning of next year. It will begin in the year 5733.

As will be recalled, as part of the attempt to cut back on students, it was determined that only those who are in employment-oriented studies will receive a subsidy for day care for their children. In addition, discriminatory criteria were set for the children of students studying in rabbinical and dayan tracks, which require them to prove success on a spot test, in contrast to all other subject studies in which no such proof is required.

Advocate Zalman Black, representing the “Truth for Jacob” organization, said: “I am glad that the state understands – even if belatedly – that the subsidy cuts will only harm thousands of ultra-Orthodox women working for a living. We will continue to fight on behalf of tens of thousands of ultra-Orthodox families and their children. “
