A group of armed miscreants attacked Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu when he crossed the Shitalakshma River to join the peace rally at 4 pm on September 6. He was seriously injured in the attack. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir gave a statement expressing deep concern in this incident.

It is said in the statement that after the fall of the Awami dictatorial ruling group in the students’ movement, the miscreants have once again indulged in illegal activities to gain benefits by creating anarchy along with creating an unstable situation in the country. Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu’s barbaric attack and serious injuries by miscreants is an expression of that indifference. There is no alternative to suppressing these terrorists with strong hands. People of all classes and professions should be united to protect the life and property of the people of the country, including the establishment of democracy and people’s right to vote.
In a statement, BNP Secretary General Abu Al Yusuf Khan called for the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the miscreants who attacked Tipu and wished for his speedy recovery.
