Various political parties and multiple alliances have announced six-point demands, including the release of those arrested, an end to mass arrests and the resignation of the prime minister, surrounding the quota reform movement. These demands have been announced in a joint statement sent to the media on Sunday (July 28).

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president ASM Abdur Rab, 12-party alliance chief Mostafa Jamal Haider, Nagrik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Biplabli Workers Party general secretary Saiful Haque, Bhasani Anusari Parishad convenor Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, state reform The main coordinator of the movement is Advocate Hasnat Qayyum, Member Secretary of AB Party Mojibur Rahman Manju, General Secretary of Gano Forum Advocate Subrata Chowdhury, Secretary of National Mukti Council Faizul Hakim Lala, Coordinator of Jatiyatabadi Sammana Jot Dr. Fariduzzaman Farhad, Bangladesh LDP Secretary Shahadat Hossain Salim, Mass Solidarity Movement Political Council Member Monir Uddin Pappu, NDM Chairman Bobby Hajjaz, People’s Rights Council Convener Col. (retd) Mia Mashiuzzaman, People’s Rights Council Secretary Rashed Khan and others are reported to have signed.

The six point demands are-

1. The repeated forcible removal of anti-discrimination student movement leaders on the pretext of providing security must be stopped and they must be returned to their families immediately.

2. Attacks, arrests in false cases and harassment on everyone, including the students and opposition party leaders, must be stopped. Arrested and missing persons should be released and all cases should be withdrawn.

3. All educational institutions should be opened immediately and security arrangements for students should be ensured and students should accept nine points.

4. Curfew should be withdrawn and all forces including police, BGB, army should be withdrawn to the barracks. Internet system should be fully operational.

5. The planners, instigators and implementers of attacks, shootings, killings of protesting students should be brought to justice.

6. Accepting responsibility for all the killings, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina must immediately hand over power to the President and resign.
