It’s that time of year again when residents of Tidaholm Municipality have the opportunity to express their opinions about living in their community. Statistics Norway’s annual citizen survey is currently underway, and Tidaholm is participating for the seventh time.

With a new record of 162 municipalities participating in this year’s survey, Tidaholm’s continued involvement demonstrates their commitment to understanding the needs and concerns of their residents. Linda Emanuelsson, survey leader at Statistics Sweden, explained in a press release that Tidaholm has been actively participating in the survey since its inception in 2005.

The survey aims to measure residents’ perception of what it’s like to live and reside in the municipality. It covers various aspects, including the residents’ sense of influence and satisfaction with the services provided. The findings from the survey play a crucial role in guiding the municipalities’ activities and improving their service delivery.

Emanuelsson emphasized the importance of maximum participation to provide the municipalities with the best possible basis for their work. The people selected to take part in the survey are chosen randomly from the population register, with the sample size varying based on the municipality’s size. Participants have the option to respond online or through a paper survey.

Among the 162 municipalities taking part in this year’s survey, there is a new addition: Kiruna. This brings the total number of municipalities that have participated in the citizen survey at least once since 2005 to 279. Kalmar municipality holds the record for the highest number of survey participations, with 19 times, closely followed by Luleå with 18 times.

Results from previous surveys, along with this year’s findings, can be found in the statistics database at scb.se, categorized by subject and municipality.
