Stäubli Robotics: Future of Baking Inspection at IBIE 2025

by Priyanka Patel

DUNCAN, S.C., Aug. 12, 2025 – The International baking industry Exposition (IBIE), a major event for grain-based food, is set to return to the Las Vegas Convention Center from September 13 to 17. On September 14, Stäubli Robotics will showcase its food-grade robots at West Hall Booth 1064, demonstrating how they combine safety, efficiency, and precision in food production.

### Robotics and AI Revolutionize Baking Inspection

The baking industry faces important challenges, from supply chain issues and labor shortages to increasing consumer demand for variety and healthier options. Many bakeries are turning to robot-based automation to optimize their production processes and meet these evolving demands.

Stäubli’s hygienic, high-speed industrial robots are already utilized across the food industry for applications requiring precision and compliance. In baking, these robots automate tasks like pick and place, inspection, and sorting. their HE series robots are particularly recognized for their hygienic design, resistance to washdown procedures, and their ability to enhance both operational efficiency and food safety compliance.

### Live AI-Powered Inspection Demo at IBIE

A live exhibition at IBIE will feature the Stäubli TS2-60 HE robot, integrated with Oxipital AI‘s VX2 Vision Solution. This setup will highlight advanced robot guidance and product inspection capabilities. During the demonstration, the robot will perform bulk picking of bread products. Oxipital AI’s vision-guided technology will precisely identify each item. Later, the products will undergo AI-powered inspection for defects. Approved items will be moved to a conveyor for packaging, while any defective products will be diverted. The robot will then use Stäubli’s VALtrack control software for conveyor tracking, picking items at the end of the line and returning them to the bulk bin, completing an automated quality control loop.

### Stäubli’s baking Automation Solutions

As a leader in food industry automation, Stäubli Robotics provides baking automation solutions that aim to boost efficiency, throughput, and safety. Their compact, hygienic robots are designed for easy integration into production lines, adaptable to various product types and formats, and capable of supporting rapid changeovers. Beyond the inspection and picking demonstrated, their robots can also automate cutting, slicing, portioning, decorating, and handling of unwrapped dough, finished baked goods, and boxes, including palletizing.

By supporting responsive, cost-effective production, Stäubli helps bakeries adapt to shifting market demands and remain competitive without sacrificing quality. Attendees can visit Stäubli Robotics at IBIE 2025, West Hall Booth 1064, to witness AI-powered robotics in action and explore the future of baking automation.
