A recent medical study found that eating processed or processed foods daily can significantly increase the risk of dementia.

The study, published on the website of the American Academy of Neurology, showed that processed foods, such as soft drinks and potato chips, are high in added sugar, fat and salt, and low in protein and fiber. According to “Sky News”.

The researchers noted that for every 10 percent increase in daily consumption of ultra-processed foods, the risk of dementia increased by 25 percent.

The researchers estimated that by replacing 10 percent of ultra-processed foods with unprocessed foods, such as fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes and meat, the risk of dementia would be reduced by 19 percent.

Dr Rosa Sancho, head of the Alzheimer’s Research Institute in Britain, said: “This study is the first to look at the association between dementia risk and consumption of processed foods, such as ready meals, snacks and soft drinks.”

“The researchers believe that the reason for this link is that processed foods contain a lot of sugar, and may lead to high blood pressure or inflammation, which can be harmful to brain health in the long term.”
