After the report last night (Saturday) that the alternate Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is considering not to retire from politics, this morning (Sunday) things become clearer. In Maariv it was reported that Bennett said that he was indeed forwarded one survey that was done without his initiative, but that he is not considering returning to political life. Similar messages were also delivered from around him. The “Zionist Spirit” party, the successor of Yamina, called the report “nonsense” and clarified that the party is moving forward.

As I recall, after a year in the Prime Minister’s Office, Naftali Bennett decided about two months ago not to run in the elections for the 25th Knesset. “I will remain a loyal soldier of this country, which I have served all my life as a soldier, as an officer, as a minister and as your prime minister. According to the report, research and polls presented to the alternate prime minister in recent days predict a certain success for the party under his leadership with a potential of eight mandates, and perhaps even more, a number that Bennett has had enough to be in the balance again.
