When Rosanna Rocci spoke about the conservative family image of her relatives on “Always on Sunday”, Stefan Mross preferred to remain silent. He does not want to be “in the newspaper again.”

Rust – While talking to his “Always on Sunday” guests, Stefan Mross (48) gets exciting details from the past. Rosanna Rocci (55) has had some exciting years behind her. The Italian pop singer only got into music because she faced several difficulties – including the lack of trust from her relatives.

The 55-year-old also reports on this in detail in the latest edition (July 7) of the ARD entertainment program. She talks openly about her childhood there: Rosanna Rocci was born in Switzerland, but moved to Abruzzo at the age of four. “It was important to my parents that we grew up in Italy,” she tells Stefan Mross. She came into contact with music in her family’s homeland.

She learned the organetto, a type of Italian accordion, from her grandfather. Back then, making music with this instrument was traditionally reserved for men. Her conservative environment was therefore very important when the young Rosas planned a singing career: “The family, the relatives said: This is questionable on stage. The men are looking. The girls should get married and have children and clean and cook instead.”

Stefan Mross forbids himself to speak on “Always on Sunday”: “I’m not allowed to say anything.”

However, Stefan Mross himself does not want to comment on this traditional image of women that has long been outdated: “I’m not allowed to say anything about it, or I’ll be in the newspaper again tomorrow,” he explains to Rosanna. Rocci, without going into detail. Instead, the pop star remains silent. This does not stop her guest: “Okay, but I can,” the interpreter “Theresa” just laughs at the dubious statement.

As is well known, she went her way despite her family’s lack of confidence: “My sisters allowed themselves to be influenced. And I said: Mom, Dad, you can do whatever you want. I continue to make music.” Because the family is behind her today: “And guess how they are to me today? Proud of it!” said Rosanna happily – and the “Always on Sunday” presenter was “obviously” proud of her, Mross said.

Another pop star recently reported on her past: Michelle (52) spoke openly about how she is now dealing with her suicide attempt. Sources used: “Always on Sunday” (Das Erste/ARD; edition from July 7, 2024)
