What a relief!

Fans of ARD presenter Stefan Mross (47) can breathe a sigh of relief: SWR is extending the contract with the folk music star for its entertainment show “Always on Sundays”.

Mross will be running the popular show for at least another year. The broadcaster confirmed this at the request of the German Press Agency. SWR did not want to say how long the contract with Mross runs and referred to confidentiality agreements. The new season starts on May 26, 2024.

For Stefan Mross, the contract extension also means a very special anniversary: next year the entertainer will present the show for the 20th year.

After a physical argument in a hotel between Mross and another man, the SWR intensively examined the collaboration with the audience favorite

For a long time it was not clear what would happen next for Mross. Last May there was a violent incident between the 47-year-old and another man in the “Pentahotel” in Leipzig. The Leipzig district court then issued a penalty order for bodily harm combined with attempted coercion against Mross. The TV star accepted.

Since Mross did not file an objection, there was no court hearing. How much he had to pay is unclear.

The responsible broadcaster SWR was not enthusiastic about the behavior of its model presenter, but decided: Mross can continue to moderate “Always again on Sundays” on ARD. Now also the extension of his contract. The fans – and Stefan Mross himself – will be happy!

It went on like that the whole time. Still, I ignored him.”

Stefan Mross left the hotel restaurant around 1:30 a.m. In the elevator he noticed that the man was following him. Mross: “I didn’t think that was safe, after all I was alone and had no idea what the guy wanted from me. He insulted me, made fun of me again.”
