iPhones have many great features, and with iOS 15, Apple added sound isolation to iPhones, which will finally let you make calls more clear. Here is how to turn on sound isolation for calls on your iPhone.
There are two options – Sound Isolation and Broad Spectrum. While Sound Isolation suppresses background noise and enhances your voice so you can take clearer calls, Broad Spectrum does the opposite. When turned on, Broad Spectrum emphasizes ambient noise, so you can hear chat happening in the background.
How to turn on sound insulation
Make a call on your iPhone. It can either be a phone call, FaceTime, or a WhatsApp call.
Now, swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to access the Control Center. But, if you have an iPhone SE (2022), swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the Control Center.
In Control Center, locate the “Microphone Placement” panel in the upper right corner.
– Tap on the “Microphone Mode” panel, and a menu will appear.
– From the menu, select “Sound Isolation” to activate this feature.
– Now, the background ambient noise will be reduced, so the person on the other end will clearly hear you speaking. But, if you have people in the background talking, and you want them to chime in, you can switch to wide spectrum mode.
– To enable broad spectrum, follow the same steps, open the “Mic mode” menu, there, select “wide spectrum”.
