New Delhi: A huge decline is being seen in the stock market today. BSE Sensex has fallen by more than 800 points. Nifty has also fallen below 22,100 points. The biggest decline is visible in the shares of oil and gas sector. At 1.50 pm, the Sensex was trading at 72,722.56 points, down 743.83 points or 1.01%. The Nifty50 index of the National Stock Exchange also fell by 237.20 points or 1.06% to 22,065.30 points. Market sentiments were affected by companies’ fourth quarter results and election uncertainty. India VIX, an index that gives an idea of ​​the turmoil in the market, also rose by 5% to reach 17.85. Due to this fall, investors have suffered a blow of Rs 5.32 lakh crore. The market cap of BSE listed companies has come down to Rs 395.65 lakh crore which was more than Rs 400 lakh crore. A significant decline is also seen in financial stocks. Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, HCL Tech, Infosys and Maruti gained on BSE, while Larsen & Toubro, ITC, JSW Steel, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank were the top gainers. There was a lot of decline. In broader markets, Nifty Smallcap has fallen by one percent while Midcap has also fallen by 0.5 percent. Talking about sector index, Nifty Auto has gained 1.7 percent. But the Oil and Gas Index has declined by 1.55 percent.

The markets continued to fall for the third consecutive session. BSE’s 30-share index Sensex fell 209.6 points to 73,256.79 points. NSE’s Nifty slipped 77.7 points to 22,224.80. Among Sensex companies, shares of Larsen & Toubro fell by more than six percent. In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei, China’s Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in profit while South Korea’s Kospi was in loss. US markets closed with mixed sentiment on Wednesday. According to stock market data, FIIs were sellers in the capital market on Wednesday and sold shares worth a net Rs 6,669.10 crore.
