In particular, A2A closed up 2.03%, after receiving the Antitrust approval for the acquisition of Enel’s electricity networks (+0.87%) in Milan and Brescia. Italgas (+0.69%) was also under observation today, increasingly close to closing the 2i Rete Gas dossier.

The operation, worth 5 billion euros, aims to aggregate the two main operators in gas distribution by September. At this point, a Board of Directors meeting is expected to be called shortly to approve the acquisition and define the financing methods. Generali (+1.03%) did well, having not finalized, even before it became operational, the insurance policy distribution agreement between its subsidiary Liberty Seguros and the Bankinter institute. Brunello Cucinelli (+0.45%) was also in positive territory, ending a session dominated by expectations for the accounts. Outside the main basket, Maire Tecnimont (+8.06%) rallied, with Jefferies analysts starting coverage on the stock with a ‘buy’ recommendation and a target price of 10 euros. After a surge at the start of trading, Fincantieri (+0.08%) wiped out its earnings, announcing today that its Norwegian subsidiary Vard had obtained new orders worth approximately 100 million.
