Stock Market Rise: Sensex Hits All-Time High – Dinamani

Echoing the healthy trend in foreign markets, the Indian stock market rallied for the first day in a row on Thursday, with the Sensex touching a new all-time high.

The Indian stock market, which had been in decline for 3 consecutive days, recovered from that decline on Tuesday. That trend continued in Wednesday’s session as well.

Up 762.10 points: The Sensex jumped as much as 901.75 points (1.46 per cent) to hit an all-time high of 62,412.33 in mid-day trade at the Mumbai Stock Exchange on Thursday. It eventually settled at an all-time high of 62,272.68, up 762.10 points (1.24 per cent).

Out of the 30 top-tier Sensex stocks, only 4 stocks made it to the low-cost list. 26 stocks were on the gainer list.

Infosys advance: Telecom major Infosys topped the gainer chart with a gain of 2.93 percent. Following the company, companies such as HCL Technologies, Powergrid, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Hindustan Leave, Reliance, ICICI Bank, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Mahindra and Mahindra also saw progress.

Bajaj Finsav Collapse: Bajaj Finsav, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance and Kotak Mahindra saw four declines.

Nifty: The national stock market index Nifty gained 216.85 points (1.19 per cent) to settle at 18,484.10 on Thursday.
