Investors have lost 4.47 lakh crore rupees in a single day due to the sharp fall in the stock market.

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex fell by 866.65 points to close at 54,835.58 on Friday. The fall in international markets, the sale of shares by foreign investors, and rising crude oil prices are said to have contributed to these losses.

Shares of Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank, Bajaj FinServe, Nestle, Wipro, HDFT, Infosys, HDFC Bank and Ultratech Cement fell sharply in today’s trade. Shares of Tech Mahindra, Powergrid, ITC, SBI and NTPC rose.
