MUMBAI: Stock markets rallied yesterday after retail inflation came within the RBI’s target to be maintained in November for the first time in 11 months of this year.

In yesterday’s stock trade, the index of the Mumbai Stock Exchange ‘Sensex’ was up 0.65 percent; The national stock market index Nifty also gained 0.70 percent.

In the Sensex category, stocks including Bajaj Finance, Infosys, TCS, Mahindra and Mahindra were the top gainers.

However, Tata Steel, Nestlé India, Maruti, Titan saw their prices decline.

For the first time this year, retail price inflation has come below the RBI’s maintenance target of 6 percent. After this was reflected in the stock market trading, the markets saw a rally yesterday.

Crude oil prices were down 1.60 percent at USD 79.24 per barrel.
