Stomach Bug Outbreak Closes School and Businesses in Hallsberg Municipality

A stomach bug outbreak has forced the closure of a school, preschool, and leisure center in Hallsberg municipality. The precautionary measure was taken after half of the students and staff fell ill.

Magnus Ribbing, head of administration in Hallsberg Municipality, stated, “Since we have received neither an answer to the sampling of the food nor the water, we want to take the safe before the unsafe and stay closed today,” in an interview with SVT Örebro.

The infection control unit in Hallsberg has taken samples and is awaiting a response. Until further information is available, the closure of the affected facilities will remain in place.

The closure serves as a safety measure to prevent the spread of the stomach bug within the community. This situation is being closely monitored, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
