National team cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim has posted on social media calling for an end to the agitation and violence around the quota reform. In this post of his, concern was expressed about the students and teachers of Jahangirnagar University in particular. He requested the concerned to find a peaceful way to resolve the situation.

In a Facebook post today on Wednesday, Mushfique wrote: ‘As a student of Jahangirnagar University, I don’t want to see any more violence against my brothers and sisters. My deepest respect to the teachers who showed unparalleled courage and were injured to protect their students. It is difficult for a student to accept that his teacher has been bullied. Which I believe is very reprehensible. By all means stop this bleeding. Peace be upon you. It is requested that the concerned parties find a peaceful solution. May Allah guide us to the right path. Amen.’

Another cricketer Afif Hossain Dhrub also made the same call in a Facebook post and wrote: ‘The country belongs to us. We believe in peace, not chaos. Let no blood of my brothers and sisters be shed. Let the ongoing crisis be resolved logically. The ongoing situation will soon turn peaceful. Let’s hope that everything will be normal.’

Young national team opener Tanjid Hasan Tamim wrote: ‘Let no highway from Teknaf to Tetulia be stained with the blood of my brothers and sisters. Let everything be resolved by maintaining proper steps and logic.’
