In 1979, he joined KROKUS, Switzerland’s most successful hard rock band, propelling them to international acclaim with multiple world tours, over 15 million record sales, and countless gold and platinum awards.
Following KROKUS, Storace fronted the band BLUE, releasing their self-titled debut album in 1991, which featured the hit single “You Can’t Stop the Rainfall.”
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, Storace expanded his horizons, appearing in films like “Anuk” and “Handyman”, achieving gold status with various KROKUS lineups, and lending his exceptional vocals to projects like “Rock Meets Classic”, SWEET’s 50th anniversary celebration, Ken Hensley’s Swiss concert, “Schubert In Rock”, and Manfred Ehlert’s albums “Amen” and the rock opera “Test”.
In a triumphant return, the original KROKUS lineup reunited in 2008, captivating audiences with electrifying tours across the globe and two platinum-selling studio albums. They bid farewell with a sold-out show at Zurich’s Hallenstadion in December 2019.
Embarking on a new chapter, Storace launched his solo career as STORACE in 2021. He released his debut album, “Live And Let Live”, followed by a Swiss tour with his talented studio band.
Currently, STORACE is a force to be reckoned with, tearing up stages with their high-energy performances. The band consists of:
* Marc Storace – Vocals
* Dom Favez – Rhythm Guitar
* Serge Christen – Lead Guitar
* Patrick Aeby – Drums
* Emi Meyer – Bass
Meanwhile, KROKUS continues to make sporadic appearances, playing festivals and special events, while being celebrated with a “Stone Of Honor” in their hometown Solothurn, Switzerland.
“Crossfire” is a testament to Storace’s enduring legacy and his relentless passion for hard rock. Crafted with songwriting collaborations between Storace, Tommy Henriksen (Alice Cooper band) and Pat Aeby (KROKUS, GOTUS), this album promises an unforgettable sonic experience. Produced by Tommy Henriksen and mixed by award-winning engineer Olle Romo, “Crossfire” is a must-have for any hard rock enthusiast.
Interview between the Time.news Editor and Marc Storace
Time.news Editor: Welcome, Marc! It’s a pleasure to have you with us today. Your new album, “Crossfire,” is set to drop on November 22nd, and fans are eagerly awaiting it. What can we expect from this album?
Marc Storace: Thank you for having me! “Crossfire” is a real fireball of energy—album packed with hard-hitting anthems. It’s a collection that captures the essence of our live performances. There are massive choruses, fiery guitar solos, and a rhythm that keeps you moving. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!
Time.news Editor: I’ve had a chance to listen to the single “Screaming Demon,” and it truly is an adrenaline rush! Could you tell us a bit more about the song and what inspired its creation?
Marc Storace: “Screaming Demon” is all about the thrill of speed and freedom. It captures that feeling of being in control while driving a high-octane machine. The intro hits hard, the rhythm strikes like lightning, and I wanted the vocals to evoke raw excitement. When I sing, “I’m gonna rolla, I’m in controlla, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!”—that’s the rush I want listeners to feel.
Time.news Editor: That energy is palpable! Looking at the full tracklist, it seems like you’ve captured a wide range of themes—everything from “Adrenaline” to “Only Love Can Hurt Like This.” What was your songwriting process like for this album?
Marc Storace: The songwriting process was a real joy this time around. I wanted to explore different emotions and stories. It’s like creating a soundtrack for life—there are highs and lows, and I wanted to reflect that. Songs like “Rock This City” showcase fun and celebration, while “Millionaire Blues” touches on the struggles of wealth and fame. It’s a diverse journey, but all rooted in hard rock energy.
Time.news Editor: Speaking of your journey, you’ve had an incredible career starting from TEA in the 70s to KROKUS and now with STORACE. How do you feel your experiences have shaped your music over the years?
Marc Storace: Every phase of my career has contributed to my growth as an artist. With TEA, I learned about musicality and stage presence; with KROKUS, it was about embracing the hard rock lifestyle and connecting with fans all over the world. And now, with STORACE, I feel a sense of freedom to experiment more while still being true to my roots. Each band, each album, has been a stepping stone.
Time.news Editor: It’s fascinating to see how each part of your journey has led you to this point. You mentioned experimenting—do you feel there are new musical influences reflected in “Crossfire”?
Marc Storace: Definitely! While staying true to hard rock, I’ve embraced a bit more versatility. You can hear a mix of classic rock influences alongside contemporary sounds. I want the music to resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers. It’s about building a bridge while making sure the essence of rock remains intact.
Time.news Editor: I love that concept! As you gear up for the album release, what are you most excited about in terms of performing these new songs live?
Marc Storace: I can’t wait to bring these tracks to the stage! The raw energy of our live performances is something special, and I feel the new material will elevate that experience. There’s nothing like seeing fans react to the music, singing along, and sharing those moments together. That connection is what it’s all about.
Time.news Editor: It sounds like a thrilling experience, and I’m sure fans are looking forward to it! Lastly, what message do you hope listeners take away from “Crossfire”?
Marc Storace: I hope they feel empowered and alive while listening to the album. Hard rock has a way of making you forget your troubles, even if just for a moment. It’s about embracing life’s thrills, the highs and lows, and simply enjoying the ride. Rock on!
