Watch out for thunderstorms this Tuesday. Météo France has placed 17 departments on orange alert. “Near the Gulf of Lion, risk of stationary thunderstorms that could lead to significant accumulations of rain. From the Massif Central to the North-East, risk of punctually violent thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening, ”warns the meteorological organization.

Monday evening, Gard and Hérault were already on orange alert, while a storm quickly crossed ten departments of Île-de-France and neighboring regions during the day, without causing significant damage despite strong gusts and hail. The two departments of the South-East are also concerned this Tuesday by an alert for heavy rains and floods.

During the day, “near accumulations of 100 to 150 mm are therefore expected locally”, according to Météo France.
